Communications Plan

The Tahltan community holds a deep connection to its cultural heritage, which is currently dispersed in the Royal BC Museum (RBCM) without acknowledgment or consultation. Our mission is to raise awareness among British Columbia citizens about the importance of repatriating these artifacts to their rightful owners. Through a blog campaign, we aim to provide a platform for the Tahltan community and other indigenous groups to voice their perspectives and promote unity in advocating for the return of Tahltan artifacts

AUDIENCE

This blog site is aimed towards indigenous groups, who can contribute posts expressing their views and experiences regarding the artifact repatriation issue. The blog will invite community members, leaders, and advocates to share their stories and perspectives.

RESEARCH

Creating these blog posts as part of our campaign provides a potent tool for several crucial purposes: raising awareness, fostering engagement, offering a centralized platform, and documenting progress toward our goal of repatriating Tahltan artifacts.

Through blog posts, we have an opportunity to enlighten the public about the pressing issue at hand. Blogs serve as an ideal medium, between owned and shared media. In an era where virtually everyone is increasingly interconnected online. Furthermore, the Tahltan community has its own website (tahltan.org/our-territory/) where we anticipate garnering even more traction after the release of these blogs.
