ABOUT TAHLTAN TERRITORIES

  • Situated in Northern British Columbia, Canada.
  • Encompasses an area of 95,933 kmĀ², accounting for 11% of British Columbia’s total land area.
  • Features diverse ecosystems that vary with terrain and climate.
  • Home to three main communities: Telegraph Creek, Dease Lake, and Iskut.

POPULATION

  • Of 4,000 individuals, 90% live outside the territory
  • Tahltans make up more than fifty percent of the population residing within Tahltan territory.

MAIN GOALS

  • Enlist community support to demand the return of artifacts from the Royal BC Museum.
  • Increase awareness of artifact repatriation issues in the Tahltan territories.
  • Preserve cultural heritage by facilitating community access to artifacts.
  • Utilize the blog as a platform for increased connectivity and create stronger support for the Tahltan community.
